About the Matthew Gaffney Foundation
The Need for College Preparation Assistance
It has been known for years that well designed SAT preparation courses and college placement counseling services are highly effective in helping students gain acceptance to the top colleges and universities. Quality SAT preparation courses can increase the average student’s combined score by more than 300 points. Effective college placement counseling can significantly improve a student’s chances of being accepted to the college of his choice.
Unfortunately, these services tend to be expensive and affordable to only the wealthiest students. Until now, there have been very few quality programs available to economically disadvantaged students.

Why the Foundation was Created
The Matthew Gaffney Foundation has been established to correct this inequity by providing the highest quality SAT preparation and college placement counseling to qualified students in Fairfield and Westchester Counties at no charge!
The Matthew Gaffney Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by a leading college preparation professional, Margaret G. Benedict, Ph D. Dr. Benedict founded the for-profit College Preparation Services in 1996 which has helped hundreds of students succeed.

How the Foundation Differs from Other Education Assistance Programs

Numerous programs and foundations exist to help economically disadvantaged students with financial assistance and guidance while they are in secondary school. The Matthew Gaffney Foundation goes further…

We prepare students for a successful college experience by (1) guiding them through the college acceptance process and (2) after they are accepted, mentoring them through their college years. Once they have graduated, we provide the guidance to help them enter the work force.

“Before discovering the Matthew Gaffney Foundation, my SAT scores were in the 400’s for verbal, math and writing. After working with Dr. Benedict, I scored 620 verbal,670 math and 610 writing and I am going to go to Lehigh University ”
