| The Matthew Gaffney Foundation has achieved impressive
results from its inception: |
| The foundation began helping students in 2002. The first two students came to the foundation because they did not have enough funds to prepare for the SAT and they both needed scholarships. |

The first student came from a small private school in Stamford. She had a high average in school but her combined (Verbal and Math) SAT score was well below the national average of 1000 (840 for African Americans in Connecticut). After six one-on-one preparation sessions, her combined SAT score exceeded 1250 and she was offered full scholarships to the University of Pennsylvania. She is now applying to Law Schools. |

| Since those early successes, the foundation placed four other qualified students in major universities such as University of Connecticut, University of Vermont, and Villanova, Lehigh University, University of Pennsylvania, Fairfield University, Wesleyan University, Williams College. And the University of Virginia. All the students are actively mentored through college by the foundation to insure their continued success in school. |
| The foundation is currently working with 50 students with a variety of backgrounds and ambitions. A few examples are included below. |

One student who was born in Colombia, South America was a full scholarship student at a prestigious prep school in Connecticut. This student had no financial resources for college tuition, much less the resources to help him with the college preparation and acceptance process. The foundation helped him increase his combined SAT score from 920 to 1180 and introduced him to Lehigh University. He was accepted under Lehigh’s early admission program in December 2004. He is now applying to law school. |

Another one of our students, whose mother is a single parent, attended a parochial school in Bridgeport, Connecticut where she is on full-scholarship. Because there was no tradition of attending college in her family, her expectations beyond high school were limited. She came to the foundation with an average SAT scores and after several weeks of work, increased her scores significantly. She received a full academic scholarship to Williams College for four years in the spring of 2008. She also received transportation, books, health insurance and a work study. |
