About the Matthew Gaffney Foundation

In 2002 Dr. Margaret Gaffney Benedict founded the Matthew Gaffney Foundation with a Mission to provide college admissions and placement services to highly motivated, academically successful but economically disadvantaged students.  These students are also the first members of their family to attend college and do not have the financial resources to pay for private college counseling or for college tuition.

Since its inception, the Gaffney Foundation has helped over 100 students gain acceptance to and receive financial aid (75% to 100% full scholarships) from top schools such as:  Bates, Brown, Franklin & Marshall, Lehigh, Harvard, Princeton, Trinity, University of Pennsylvania, University of Vermont, University of Virginia, Vanderbilt and Williams.
