Commemorating 20 Years

The Gaffney Foundation joyfully commemorates its 20th anniversary.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to Karen and Gene Wilder for their unwavering belief in our mission and their generous support. Two decades ago, Gene and Karen played a pivotal role in our inception, and Karen’s ongoing support remains invaluable.

A Life-Changing Experience

Gaffney Students Visit The

Hurricane Island Outward Bound School

Five days in the wilderness can change everything. For some of these students, it was their first time away from home... and the first time away from their cellphones! Resilience and self-reliance are just a few of the skills they learned to help them navigate their senior years of high school, as well as their college years and beyond.

EQUAL QUALITY EDUCATION

Graduate from college with little or no debt because all designated need is met with scholarships and grants!

We have over 100 debt-free graduates.

In 2018-2019, we have 32 students in college earning over $4 million in scholarships for one academic year!

Dr. Matthew Gaffney is a renowned educator known for his commitment to educational excellence, innovation and diversity.  A graduate of Hobart College and the University of Buffalo, Dr. Gaffney spent much of his career leading some of the best public school systems in New York and Pennsylvania as Superintendent.  During the 1950s and 1960s, he unified Tarrytown High School with Sleepy Hollow's, and he diversified the elementary schools in Abington, PA. His work insured equal quality education for all.
